Abstract
Antiserum against purified beta-lactamase from Proteus vulgaris GN7919 cross-reacted with beta-lactamases produced by strains of Pseudomonas cepacia in a neutralization test. Anti-P. cepacia beta-lactamase serum, however, did not show any cross-reactions with P. vulgaris beta-lactamases. Each of these enzymes can hydrolyze cefuroxime and cefotaxime.
