Nonautotrophic Thiobacillus in Acid Mine Water1

Abstract

Nonautotrophic thiobacilli were isolated from the acidic water of a coal mine. Based on their mixotrophic physiology, the isolates are regarded as strains of Thiobacillus perometabolis.
