Former general practitioner Pelton, County Durham (b Hetton-le-Hole, Tyne and Wear, 1928; q Durham 1951), died from cryptogenic cirrhosis and diabetes on 24 June 2002.
Henry completed his house jobs at Newcastle, and subsequently spent two years doing national service in Malaya. On returning to England, he worked in obstetrics before joining general practice, where he worked until his retirement in 1990. He was a medical officer in the Territorial Army for many years and was awarded the Territorial Decoration. He leaves a wife, Jeanette, and two children.
