Abstract

We report our assessment of a study day on the primary health care team for trainee general practitioners, student health visitors and student district nurses. We found that insufficient attention has been given to helping learners co-operate with other disciplines in delivering primary health care and consider that team members need to acquire skills which will help them to communicate with their colleagues. We suggest that the training practice with its defined population should be the training base for district nurses and health visitors.
