Priorities in Preparation for Opening Day

Abstract

The efforts of the Louisiana State University School of Medicine Library were channeled in the direction of overcoming obstacles; time, funds, space, staffing, and other problems that happen daily in preparing library facilities for the first class. Fortunately, however, these obstacles were minimized by a very co-operative and understanding administration and faculty.

The following minimum recommendations offered from the experiences gained in developing a library for opening day are: [List: see text]

Naturally, these recommendations will vary, depending upon location, size of entering class, and the anticipated completion date of the new facilities.
