Former general practitioner Bidford-on-Avon, Warwickshire (b Belfast 1935; q Belfast 1959), died on 9 August 2003 following a heart attack.

After a house job at the Mater Hospital in Belfast, Gerry joined a general practice in Bidford-on-Avon in 1960, becoming senior partner in 1979. After he retired from practice in 1995, Gerry spent a few years working part time for the Benefits Agency in Birmingham. Away from work, he was a keen but incompetent golfer. He loved reading, travel, Ireland, and Glasgow Celtic. He leaves a wife, Anne; five children; and 11 grandchildren.
