As a joint venture between LACDR and the Institute for Biotechnology Studies Delft/Leiden, the Graduate School for Food Technology, Agrobiotechnology, Nutrition and Health Services in Wageningen, a training course an Quality Assurance and Total Quality Management has been developed. The programme will comprise of six modules of 2–5 days:
Towards total quality management: design and implementation of quality assurance systems;
Pharmaceutical microbiology and validation;
Quality management in analytical laboratories;
From idea to registration: good practices in research, development and production of pharmaceutical products;
Biological production from genetics to downstream processing;
Food technology and food safety.
Certificates/Diploma
After attending a module, the participants will receive a certificate for attendance. In addition, the participants are offered the possibility to complete the course through an examination covering the pharma/biotech program (module 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5) or covering the food/biotech program (module 1, 2, 3, 5 and 6). An additional examination fee will be charged
The course is aimed at individuals employed in industry (or planning an industrial career) who wish to supplement their academic curriculum with subjects relevant to quality control, quality assurance and total quality management. The first module will be given in April 2000.
