It is necessary to state at the outset that this paper contains only an account of personal experiences for which I alone am responsible, and is not in any way intended to act as a report from the Committee to which I was attached. All such reports were private, and were submitted to Surgeon-General Babtie, V.C., Principal Director of Medical Services for the Mediterranean Expeditionary Force.
