Abstract

The maximum temperature for growth (Tmax) was determined for pure and mixed cultures of acidophilic thiobacilli. The experimental system was based on incubating the cultures in liquid media exposed to a linear temperature gradient. The Tmax values varied within the range of 36.1 to 43.6°C.
