Street Kids

Approach to therapy

Abstract

When helping street kids, the physician must be nonjudgmental, be willing to be available when they are in need of help, be willing to act as their advocate, and be able to network effectively with the street and its resources. These kids are not intrinsically “bad.” Getting them to comply with treatment is the key to a productive physician-patient relationship.
