Inhibition of Escherichia coli Biodegradative Threonine Dehydratase by Pyruvate

Abstract

Pyruvate inhibits Escherichia coli K-12 biodegradative threonine dehydratase activity by a mechanism distinct from product inhibition by α-ketobutyrate and catabolite inactivation by intermediary metabolites.
