A Practical Guide to the Prescription of Exercise

Abstract

As physicians, we are obligated to learn to advise patients about the benefits and risks of exercise; to prescribe a safe, yet effective, exercise program; and to treat or advise patients about the common injuries or difficulties that may be experienced in an exercise program. The purpose of this article is to present a practical guide to the prescription of exercise.
