Abstract

Management of chronic illness presents a challenge to patients. Asthma is a common chronic disease affecting millions of Americans each year. Particularly, maternal asthma puts pregnant women at high risk for many complications and requires special day-to-day management. Tailored materials are shown to be an effective means of communication between patients and physicians. To improve asthma management in this high-risk group, we developed a web-based tool to facilitate the creation and dissemination of tailored materials for asthmatic pregnant women.
