Abstract

Purpose: The conditions necessary to widespread use of the laser card system, read-write speed and reliability are especially studied.

Methods: In order to observe the influence of temperature, the cards were kept on the dash-board of cars. For the physical forces the male patients carried the cards into the seat pocket of pants.

Findings: The data file was read at a speed of 20 K-bits/sec. In the read-write device of version 2, the speed was improved such as 40 K-bits/sec. There are no influence of temperature and physical forces on the laser card in being tested in a 2 months trial.

Conclusions: This card system is excellent.
