Abstract

Information systems technology has thus far largely failed in its promise to enhance the efficiency and efficacy of healthcare delivery. Two fundamental reasons for this failure are 1) a historical focus on financial information and 2) system architectures and applications which provided cumbersome and incomplete data capture as well as insufficient access to data. This demonstration showcases a system whose approach to clinical computing resolves many of these key issues in the complex environment of emergency services delivery.
