Volume 77, no. 18, p. 9809-9816, 2003. Page 9815: We erroneously stated that residues 195 to 313 of T antigen interact with pol/prim, whereas, in fact, those are the residues in the p180 subunit of pol/prim that bind to T antigen (I. Dornreiter, W. C. Copeland, and T. S. Wang, Mol. Cell. Biol. 13:809-820, 1993). This error impacts on the last paragraph of our discussion since we stated that the RPA binding site is located close to that of pol/prim. The most recent information that has been published about the pol/prim binding site in T antigen is that it is not at the N-terminal end (K. Weisshart, M. K. Bradley, B. M. Weiner, C. Schneider, I. Moarefi, E. Fanning, and A. K. Arthur, J. Virol. 70:3509-3516, 1996). Therefore, we cannot make any statements about possible interactions between RPA and pol/prim during assembly of an initiation complex. This does not change our consideration of possible interactions between RPA and topo I during DNA synthesis. We apologize for the error.
