To the Editor: I was saddened to read about recent attacks on the integrity of the Croatian Medical Journal (CMJ) (1). In my opinion, the CMJ meets or exceeds international standards of excellence in publishing in science and medicine. I am a regular contributor to your excellent journal (both editorials and original research articles). I am impressed that you publish articles regarding advances in medical education, and that you post archival material online for international readers. Your authors and readers come from all over the world. My personal experience has been that the Editorial Office provides impartial reviews. Your editorial comments strengthen the quality of our manuscripts. I believe that articles in the CMJ provide outstanding examples of regional and international scholarship that are inspiring a new generation of scientists and physicians.
