Effectiveness of the diabetes education and self management for ongoing and newly diagnosed (DESMOND) programme for people with newly diagnosed type 2 diabetes: cluster randomised controlled trial

PMCID: PMC2323078

All but two of the authors (M J Davies and S Heller) in this paper by Davies and colleagues (BMJ 2008;336:491-5, 1 Mar; doi: 10.1136/bmj.39474.922025.BE) ended up with incorrect affiliation addresses. T C Skinner is at the School of Psychology, University of Wollongong, Australia; M J Campbell and K Rantell are at the School of Health and Related Research, University of Sheffield; M E Carey and H M Dallosso are involved in the DESMOND programme, University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust; S Cradock is at the Queen Alexandra Hospital, Portsmouth; H Daly is part of the Diabetes Research Team, University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust; Y Doherty, S Eaton, and L Oliver are at the Diabetes Resource Centre, Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust; C Fox is at Northampton General Hospital; G Rayman is at the Ipswich Diabetes Service; and K Khunti is at the Department of Health Sciences, University of Leicester. An electronic glitch also meant that the word “education” appeared extraneously in the discussion before the first two paragraphs of the “Strengths and limitations of the study” section. All these errors appeared only in the printed version and the abridged pdf.
