We regret that we incorrectly cited Scheraga and coworkers (Vila et al. 2000, 2001) in our recent paper describing hydration of helices. We stated that their studies suggested that hydrogen bonding between Lys and Arg side chains and main chain carbonyl groups four residues upstream stabilize helices. Instead, they suggested that the charged end groups of these residues stabilize helices by sequestering water away from the main chain, thereby stabilizing intramolecular hydrogen bonds. We apologize for this error, but note that it does not change our results and conclusions.
