Hospital finds space for art

Lynn Eaton 1
PMCID: PMC2376007

Visitors to the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital in London can enjoy an exhibition of art by the painter and printmaker Anita Klein—a former student at the Chelsea and Slade schools of art—and at the same time can help the hospital’s ambitious arts programme, aimed at creating a healing environment.

The prints are for sale, and 25% of the proceeds will go towards the Hospital Arts Health Charity. Anita is a trustee of Paintings in Hospitals and has donated many of her works to that fund.

The hospital will also be hosting regular lunchtime musical performances, including a gospel choir from a local girls’ school, a violin recital, and a concert of music fusing the north Indian tabla and saxophone.

The prints are on show until 27 June. For more details see www.hospitalarts.co.uk.
