Abstract
One hundred and eight patient referrals to the public health nursing staff of the Regional Municipality of Waterloo were made between May 1, 1974 and April 30, 1975. The role of the public health nurse (PHN) seconded to an urban family practice in a group affiliation is discussed, with emphasis on the types of problems referred and the advantages of secondment for the doctor, the nurse and the patient.
