Ghosts: Their Appearance During Bereavement

Abstract

Newly bereaved patients often experience hallucinations - auditory, visual, olfactory - about the deceased person. These experiences can be frightening to the patient, who will usually not mention them to anyone. However, the hallucinations can be used as a positive part of helping the bereaved adjust to their new life.
