Abstract
A critical review of the literature on screening for and treating Chlamydia trachomatis during pregnancy suggests that all pregnant women at high risk of chlamydial infection, or from a population where infection is prevalent, should be screened and treated. This will help reduce chlamydial infections in infants and may decrease adverse outcomes of pregnancy.
