N2O Evolution by Green Algae

Abstract

Evidence is presented here that axenic cultures of Chlorella, Scenedesmus, Coelastrum, and Chlorococcum spp. evolve N2O when grown on NO2, showing that the Chlorophyceae are a source of N2O in aquatic systems.
