Photoactivation of Urocanase in Pseudomonas putida: Possible Role in Photoregulation of Histidine Metabolism

Abstract

Irradiation by near-ultraviolet light of cells or extracts of Pseudomonas putida increased the urocanase activity. Irradiated cells exhibited enhanced catabolic activity on histidine and urocanate.
