Uptake and Distribution of Labeled Carbon from 14C-Asparagine by Mycobacterium tuberculosis

Abstract

Asparagine supplies not only nitrogen but also carbon to growing cells of Myobacterium tuberculosis. The carbon of asparagine is rapidly taken up and extensively utilized.
