Table 2.

Experimentally measured 15N chemical shift (Figure 4) and 1H-15N dipolar coupling (Figure 5) values of SKP and SA peptides embedded in mechanically aligned POPC and DMPC lipid bilayers at 30°C.

Peptide V3 L5 V9 L11 L12 A15
POPC (SKP or SA):
Chemical Shift (ppm) 210±2 203±3 205±1.5 200±0.9 195±1 198±3
Dipolar coupling (kHz) * 9.5 7.2 7.0 9.3 7.7 8.2
SKP in DMPC:
    Chemical Shift (ppm) 190±2 172±1.7 178±2 167±1 170±1 168±2
    Dipolar coupling (kHz)* 8.5 3.5 3.0 8.0 5.0 7.0
SA in DMPC:
    Chemical Shift (ppm) 200±2 185±1 192±1 181±1.4 180±1 178±2

Based on line widths, errors in the reported dipolar couplings are estimated to be about ±0.3 to ±0.4 kHz.
