Retired general practitioner Englefield Green and Egham, Surrey (b London 1915; q King's College Hospital, London, 1941), died from bronchopneumonia and Parkinson's disease on 20 September 2003.
Bill served in the Royal Army Medical Corps in India and Burma as captain from 1943 to 1946. After the second world war he was a house officer at Queen Alexandra's Hospital, Portsmouth, and was in general practice in the NHS from its inception in 1948. He retired in 1981 and moved to Cardiff in 1990. He leaves a wife, Daphne; a daughter; and two granddaughters.
