Erratum to: Clin Orthop Relat Res DOI 10.1007/s11999-008-0563-2
We note an unfortunate error inserted in the Abstract of this paper during the initial editing process and not detected through the subsequent revisions and proofing. Clinical Orthopaedics and Related Research normally notes percentages with large numbers of patients. During the editing of the initial manuscript we inserted “7.4%” in the following sentence:
“There were 14 component revisions (7.4%) within the first year, including 10 for femoral neck fracture, two for dislocations, and two for acetabular component loosening.”
The denominator, however was incorrect (the authors would have used 449, the number of patients with one year data presuming no revisions in the other 88 patients without one year data) and therefore the percentage should have read “3.1%” so the sentence would correctly read:
“There were 14 component revisions (3.1%) within the first year, including 10 for femoral neck fracture, two for dislocations, and two for acetabular component loosening.”
We deeply regret and apologize for this error.
