Former general practitioner Redhill and consultant anaesthetist Redhill Group and Crawley (b Woolwich 1915; q London 1941; FRCA, FRCGP), died from myelodysplasia on 25 October 2003.

Leslie was a fellow of the BMA, having served on various committees, including as member of council from 1952 to 1964. He was a medical adviser to the Treasury and the Post Office from 1964 to 1972. A keen swimmer, he played water polo and gained a half purple for London Universities. He later developed a love of boating and took a great interest in his hero, Admiral Lord Nelson, particularly through the Nelson Society. Predeceased by his first wife, Ruby, he leaves his second wife, Gill; two children; and five grandchildren.
