All past issues of the Transactions are now archived on PubMed, as will be all future issues. Therefore, authors of manuscripts appearing in the Transactions are now required to obtain written permission from copyright holders of previously published figures and tables appearing in their manuscripts and indicate their having done so in legends and/or footnotes. Authors now also are required to disclose potential conflicts of interest pertinent to their manuscripts.
My report concluded with the announcement of the Mary Allen Engle Award to the presenter at the prior year's meeting who submitted a completed manuscript and returned the edited version the most promptly and efficiently. Walter J. Daly, the recipient was unable to attend the Ponte Vedra meeting and will be given his certificate and bottle of vintage wine at next year's meeting.
