Erratum

The article by Susan M. Joseph, et al., Acute Decompensated Heart Failure: Contemporary Medical Management, Tex Heart Inst J 2009;36(6):510–20 states, “Nesiritide is given as a loading dose of 2 μg/kg, followed by an infusion of 0.01 to 0.03 mg/kg/min.” The amount of the infusion should have been 0.01 to 0.03 μg/kg/min. Regarding the infusion dose range, the U.S. package insert for nesiritide (Natrecor®; Scios Inc.)states: “The recommended dose of Natrecor is an IV bolus of 2 mcg/kg followed by a continuous infusion of 0.01 mcg/kg/min. Natrecor should not be initiated at a dose that is above the recommended dose.”
