Correction for Chesnokova et. al., Fusion of epithelial cells by Epstein–Barr virus proteins is triggered by binding of viral glycoproteins gHgL to integrins αvβ6 or αvβ8

PMCID: PMC2840348

MICROBIOLOGY Correction for “Fusion of epithelial cells by Epstein–Barr virus proteins is triggered by binding of viral glycoproteins gHgL to integrins αvβ6 or αvβ8,” by Liudmila S. Chesnokova, Stephen L. Nishimura, and Lindsey M. Hutt-Fletcher, which appeared in issue 48, December 1, 2009, of Proc Natl Acad Sci USA (106:20464–20469; first published November 17, 2009; 10.1073/PNAS.0907508106).

The authors omitted the following reference: In Urquiza et al. (50) a peptide encompassing the KGD motif was 1 of 11 peptides in gH identified as binding with low affinity to HeLa cells. The peptide also, however, bound with high affinity to B cells, to which full-length gH does not.
