Roles of 5-substituents of tRNA wobble uridines in the recognition of purine-ending codons. Takai Kazuyuki, Yokoyama Shigeyuki. Nucleic Acids Res. 2003;31:6383–6391. doi: 10.1093/nar/gkg839.

The publishers wish to apologise for an error in the above paper, in which ‘≤8.2’ was given as ‘not ≤8.2’ in the second paragraph of How the Model Fits to the Known Facts and Theories. The correct and complete sentence appears below.

As the negative charge of the carboxyl group of the cmnm5 substituent may somewhat neutralize the electron withdrawing effect of the charged nitrogen, it is expected that the pKa value for mnm5U is ≤8.2.
