General practitioner Bournemouth (b Weston-super-Mare 1961; q Welsh National School of Medicine 1984; DLO, DRCOG, DPD, MRCGP), died from lung cancer on 30 December 2002.

After senior house officer posts in Taunton, London, and High Wycombe, and a trainee year in Highcliffe, Charlie became a partner and trainer at Moordown Medical Centre. He developed an expertise in dermatology, working as a hospital practitioner in Bournemouth and Christchurch, and ran GP special interest clinics in dermatology and ear, nose, and throat medicine. He enjoyed a vast array of leisure pursuits and was a squadron leader in the Royal Air Force medical reserves. He leaves a wife, Brenda, and two children.
