In Surgery for Obesity and Related Diseases Volume 6, Number 2, in the article “Relationship between surgeon volume and adverse outcomes after RYGB in Longitudinal Assessment of Bariatric Surgery (LABS) study” there was an error in the description of the composite endpoint. The second sentence of paragraph 2 on page 120 should read “The CE was defined as any of the following occurring within 30 days after surgery: death; deep-vein thrombosis or venous thromboembolism; reintervention with the use of percutaneous, endoscopic, or operative techniques; or failure to be discharged from the hospital within 30 days after surgery.”
To clarify, the composite event did not include “repeat hospitalization.” All analysis for the article, and all published conclusions were based on the CE as defined above. The authors regret this error.
