Restraint stress-induced suppression of the DTH response was enhanced in β-arrestin 2-deficient mice. Wild-type (WT) and β-arrestin 2-deficient mice (β-arrestin 2 KO) were immunized with OVA (injection of 100 μg s.c.) in complete Freund's adjuvant on the 1st day of stress followed by a boost with OVA (injection of 20 μg s.c.) in incomplete Freund's adjuvant on the 7th day. Mice were subjected to a 12-hour physical restraint daily for 3 days. In all groups, DTH (hind footpad) was assessed on day 10 in a blind fashion using a caliper meter. ∗ p < 0.01 vs. the indicated groups.
