The case report: Dual life-threatening pathologies presenting simultaneously. BMJ Case Reports 2009 [doi:10.1136/bcr.01.2009.1491] was published on the 10 May 2009 with the following errors:

The sentence, ‘The LAD lesion was crossed easily with a 0.014 inch balance middleweight wire (BMW)…’ which appears under the section, Case Presentation, should read as follows: ‘The LAD lesion was crossed easily with a 0.014 inch balance middleweight (BMW)…’

The sentence, ‘This combination of pathologies is a rate entity and often difficult to diagnose. To date, only a few cases have been reported’ which appears under the Background section should be replaced with: ‘Boerhaave’s syndrome complicating infarction has been described previously. Although it is a rate entity, and to date only a few cases have been described, clinicians need to be alert to the possibility of this life-threatening diagnosis.’

We apologise for any inconvenience caused.
