The authors of “Forced Homo- and Heterodimerization of All gp130-Type Receptor Complexes Leads to Constitutive Ligand-independent Signaling and Cytokine-independent Growth” (Mol. Biol. Cell [2010] 21, 2797–2807) would like to make a correction to their paper. The β-actin controls in Figure 3B and Supplemental Figure 2 for data with cells stably transduced with cDNAs for IL-15-LIFR, IL-15-OSMR, IL-15-LIFR+sushi-gp130, and IL15OSMR+sushi-gp130 were identical (middle panels of Figure 3B and right upper panel of Supplemental Figure 2). What was even more critical was that the IL-15-LIFR and IL-15-OSMR labels in Figure 3B and Supplemental Figure 2 were mixed up; therefore the use of an identical β-actin control was incorrect. The authors reproduced the complete set of RT-PCR experiments with these cell lines and created a new Figure 3B and a new Supplemental Figure 2, shown below. The authors have also repeated the experiments shown in Figure 3A with cells cultivated after thawing from liquid nitrogen. Since the reproduction of the experiments led to the same results, the text and the legends have not been changed. The authors apologize for any inconvenience these errors may have caused.
