Correction for The Integrin-coupled Signaling Adaptor p130Cas Suppresses Smad3 Function in Transforming Growth Factor-β Signaling

The authors of “The Integrin-coupled Signaling Adaptor p130Cas Suppresses Smad3 Function in Transforming Growth Factor-β Signaling” (Mol. Biol. Cell [2008] 19, 2135–2146) would like to make a correction to the paper.

First, in the paragraph titled “Silencing Endogenous p130Cas by Using Small Interfering RNA (siRNA)” in the Materials and Methods section (page 2137), the siRNA sequence CCCACAAGCUGGUGUUACU was incorrect. It should be CCCACAAGCUGGUGUUCAU. Second, in the fourth paragraph of the Results section (page 2137), the numbering of Smad3 amino acids was incorrect. (S3D, S⁴⁶⁴SVS⁴⁶⁷-D⁴⁶⁴DVD⁴⁶⁷) and (S3A, S⁴⁶⁴SVS⁴⁶⁷-A⁴⁶⁴AVA⁴⁶⁷) should be (S3D, S⁴²²SVS⁴²⁵-D⁴²²DVD⁴²⁵) and (S3A, S⁴²²SVS⁴²⁵-A⁴²²AVA⁴²⁵).
