Consultant radiologist University College Hospital, London, and the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, London and Stanmore (b Amersham 1944; q King's College Hospital Medical School 1967; FRCR, DMRD), died from pulmonary fibrosis on 3 December 2003.
Peter trained in radiology at University College Hospital and was appointed a consultant at Northwick Park Hospital on the outskirts of London. Three years later he returned to University College Hospital, where he took up a consultant post in conjunction with the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital. His great interest was orthopaedic radiology. His textbook Orthopaedic Radiology is considered a classic work and is now in its third edition. His outside interests included the opera and Jewish history and he produced a book called Lost Synagogues of London. He leaves a wife, Jannine, and five children.
