Pet insurance program for members and staff
The CVMA is pleased to announce a new membership service offered by the CVMA's insurance program and PetCare Insurance Brokers, Ltd. This program is designed to provide pet insurance coverages to CVMA members and their staff with a group discount.
Practices that have 10 or more employee's pets covered under the above staff program, and also have their clinic insurance coverage through the CVMA program administered by Pottruff & Smith Insurance Brokers, Inc., will be entitled to a discount on their business insurance policy as well, based on the number of pets insured.
“Historically, the provision of veterinary services for clinic staff has been done at a discounted fee, negotiated between the clinic and its staff members,” said Mark Warren, PetCare's Chief Executive Officer. “However, pet owner finances often continue to dictate the level of care staff-pets receive, especially if this care is provided outside of the veterinary clinic where they are employed, such as in accessing specialty care. This program, as with pet insurance in general, allows decisions for veterinary care to be made based on pet need, not finances, and allows the veterinary practice to receive full value for the services rendered. It also provides additional value to the practice owner(s) in the way of a discount on their CVMA Commercial Insurance policy administered by Pottruff & Smith, the leading provider of insurance products to the veterinary community.”
