CVMA ELEARNING COURSE OF THE MONTH: NEW REALITIES OF MARKETING VETERINARY SERVICES: REPLACING YOUR VACCINE BUSINESS — WITH DR. WALT INGWERSEN

PMCID: PMC339902

This course explores the income potential inherent in every full-service veterinary practice through diversifying the services provided, thereby avoiding an over dependence or focus on any one specific service, such as vaccination. Intended for all members of the veterinary practice health care team, its focus is on providing strategies to move towards a services-based, and away from a commodity-based, practice philosophy and style. The necessity of this evolution is discussed, specific examples are provided, and suggested methods of accomplishing this paradigm shift are relayed to the audience. You must be a veterinarian to take this course. It is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Usual cost: $30 for CVMA members, $60 for non-members. You may take this course at no cost during December and January.

Simply go to www.canadianveterinarians.net, and in the upper right hand box headed “Veterinarians” click on “Click here to log-in or join the CVMA.” (If you hit “Online Training Courses” in the Learning Library box on the left, you will not be able to access the exclusive courses for veterinarians, as this takes you to our www.animalhealthcare.ca site.) Log-in using the code provided by the CVMA (if you don't remember your log-in code call the CVMA at 1-800-567-2862 ext. 10). Then go to “Management and Scientific Courses” in the Learning Library box, and hit “Browse the Catalogue.” You may take the first module of any course at no cost, so that you can assess your level of interest prior to purchasing it.
