Abstract
Technetium99m (99mTc) Scintigraphy is a well established tool for diagnosing Thyroid disease. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the usage of this particular method in detecting residual thyroid disease after surgery and its role as a diagnostic marker for the work up of a patient with residual disease. All were female patients seen in the ENT OPD for a period of 1 year from Feb 2004–Jan 2005, within the age group 24 yrs to 50 yrs.
Key words: 99mTc, Thyroidectomy, I-131, Residual thyroid disease
