Dear Colleagues, despite for some years I have been resistant to computer science and to its applications, actually I have necessarily become interested and involved in new types of communication, such as just those spread through the web.
Experiencing that change of attitude brought me to appreciate the extremely positive features of the system and the great easiness of benefiting from sharing data.
The most important magazines often have both an on-line and a paper version, with an editorial staff which has the task to integrate all the reports deriving from paper documents with some investigations exploiting all the media which the web makes available, i.e. videos, audios, photos, etc.
While I was processing the above remarks, along with a new group of collaborators – which I am proud to introduce you – a new thought has become concrete: to start a new periodical in dentistry as an on-line and a paper version.
The web site (www.oimplantology.org) will include the complete contents in English language, in order to optimize the international visibility of the periodical, and in order to access, in a very short time, the indexing process in the most prestigious bibliographic databases.
The paper version, with the articles published in Italian language, will be a platform for the scientific updating and for sharing news regarding clinical conditions and surgical procedures directly connected to implantology and to dental prosthesis.
