RT-QPCR levels of miRNA in kidney allograft biopsies of kidney-transplant recipients were subjected to unsupervised hierarchical clustering (complete linkage, Manhattan distance). MiRNA copies (per μg total RNA) were determined by the standard curve method on an ABI Prism 7700 system in kidney allograft biopsy tissue obtained from 10 subjects with IFTA biopsies and 8 subjects with Normal biopsy results, and were normalized across the rows. Levels of RNU6B (U6), a small nuclear RNA used as endogenous control, did not differ across the groups and was not included in the clustering. See Table S7 for miRNA absolute copy numbers ascertained by RT-QPCR.
