Correction for Boehm et al., FoxO is a critical regulator of stem cell maintenance in immortal Hydra

PMCID: PMC3545763

DEVELOPMENTAL BIOLOGY Correction for “FoxO is a critical regulator of stem cell maintenance in immortal Hydra,” by Anna-Marei Boehm, Konstantin Khalturin, Friederike Anton-Erxleben, Georg Hemmrich, Ulrich C. Klostermeier, Javier A. Lopez-Quintero, Hans-Heinrich Oberg, Malte Puchert, Philip Rosenstiel, Jörg Wittlieb, and Thomas C. G. Bosch, which appeared in issue 48, November 27, 2012, of Proc Natl Acad Sci USA (109:19697–19702; first published November 12, 2012; 10.1073/pnas.1209714109).

The authors note that they unintentionally omitted a reference to an article by Bridge et al., who first described the presence of a single FoxO gene in Hydra. The reference should be cited on page 19698, right column, first paragraph, after lines 9–10, “according to phylogenetic analyses (Fig. 2I and Fig. S1)”. The complete reference appears below.
