(a) 15N CPMAS spectrum (4096 scans) and (b) 1-ms 13C{15N}REDOR spectra of lyophilized stationary phase (OD 4, 12 h growth) S. aureus whole cells grown in SASM with L-[ε-15N]lysine (51,200 scans). Spectra were acquired with a 500 MHz (1H frequency) magnet with 8 kHz spinning and 2 ms CP.
