Animals habituate to stress related to handling. Blood corticosterone (CORT) levels were measured after 1 day and after 6 days of handling, compared with non-handled control animals (n = 10 per group). Blood CORT levels were higher for handled animals compared to control animals on the first day of handling but not on the 6th day of handling. Shown are means ± standard error of the mean.
