Anna Huisman is a Coronary Care and Critical Care pharmacist at William Osler Health System, Brampton Civic Campus. Anna completed a BScH in Life Science at Queen’s University in Kingston (2005). While at Queen’s, she had an opportunity to shadow an intensive care unit pharmacist, which inspired Anna to pursue a career in hospital pharmacy. Anna received her BScPhm from the University of Toronto in 2010 and went on to complete a hospital pharmacy residency at William Osler Health System in 2011.
Anna is an active member of a number of professional organizations, including the Canadian Society of Hospital Pharmacists (CSHP), the Canadian Pharmacists Association, the Ontario Pharmacists’ Association, and the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists. She is currently the Lake Ontario West Chapter Chair in the CSHP Ontario Branch.
Her professional interests include critical care, cardiology, and infectious diseases. Anna is involved in teaching and mentorship, serving as a preceptor for Structured Practical Experience Program (SPEP) students and residents and as a TA in the Professional Practice Course at the Leslie Dan Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Toronto.
